Federation Square is one of Melbourne’s most recognisable civic and cultural landmarks, transforming a former rail yard into a vibrant public precinct at the heart of the city. Designed by Lab Architecture Studio in collaboration with Bates Smart, the project is defined by its bold, fragmented geometry and modular façade system, housing galleries, performance spaces, media centres and public plazas arranged around a dynamic central square and atrium. AAF is proud to have contributed to this iconic development by supplying high-grade anodised aluminium finishes, delivering the durability, consistency and long-term performance required to support the building’s complex form and enduring role as a focal point for culture, events and everyday city life.
